About us

Our mission at Lebanon North C.P. Church is to love, serve, obey, and exalt God, to love our neighbors as ourselves, and to spread God's love to our community. Our goal is to help each individual to have a meaningful and pleasant worship experience and to come to know the love of God through our Savior Jesus Christ. We are a community of faith, reaching out with open arms ready and willing to embrace each and every one of God's children.

A Brief History

On July 19, 1871 a group assembled at the Baptist Church known by the name of Providence, in Wayne County, Illinois. Being desirous of associating themselves together for religious purposes resolved that they were Cumberland Presbyterians. After prayer they organized with 13 members. Before the old church was built, the congregation met in homes and at the Hazel Grove and Fairview School Houses. The old church was built in 1895. It was a 40x40 ft, one room building with a coal burning stove in the center. Sunday School attendance averaged in the 90's. The new church was built in 1956. It is 33x53 ft with a basement. A Fellowship Hall was added on to the east side of the Church building in 2004. The sanctuary was remodeled in 2018.

About Our Pastor

JC McDuffee, born 1965 in Bethesda Naval Hospital in Maryland, grew up a navy brat attending church every now and then. It wasn't until he was 12 years old that he started to regularly attend South Side Baptist Church in Savannah, TN. It was around this time that he was saved and baptised. JC had spent summers going to his grandmas "home church", Lebanon.

He became an elder at Lebanon in his late 20's. It wasn't until 2000 that he accepted the call to ministry and attended PAS through Memphis Theological Center at Bethel University. He began at the Burnt Prairie CP Church where he was pastor from 2000-2004. Then from 2004-present he came back to his grandma's "home church" to be pastor at Lebanon.

JC has been married to DeLanna since 1986 and has four children; Meredith, Hayden, Kendra, and Colin.

His interests include being a die hard Cubs fan, traveling with family, fishing, gardening, Cajun cuisine, cooking BBQ, and shaking people's hands on Sunday.

His goal is to continue to grow as God leads him and to make others feel welcome and part of the Lebanon family.

Joshua 24: 15 "And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
